Anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant has probably played this game, or some version of it. Every Mother’s Day and Easter, each waitstaff would throw five bucks in a bucket prior to shift start. Any time they were set a table where a woman was wearing a hat, they would cue the kitchen to sneak a glance and rate the absurdity of the hat. At the end of the shift, all votes are tallied, line cook settles any tie breakers, and the winning waiter takes home the money (minus the bucket, of course, that would be stealing!)
Keeping this memory in mind, imagine when I came across this breakfast link from Two Nerdy History Girls:
via Fabulous hats of San Quentin State Prison women inmates – Boing Boing. Picture was found here.
Hope you get a giggle too!
