Beach/Life Poem

Walking Along the Shoreline

How such a range of feeling exists

In one single space

I cannot comprehend

The memories swirl within the waves

And recede back to the depths

Building sand castles

My first kiss

Falling in love

Running away from a broken heart

Rekindling friendships

Crying through pain

A final farewell

And watching the sun rise the next day

There is a reason the beach can be

Serene

Still

Wondrous

Surrounded by horses and dolphins

Turbulent

Wind blown and crashing waves

The beach mirrors life

The beach holds the key

The answers to picking up

And living again

Picture Prompt #22: Unplugged.
