Soul Mates

Jenni willed Greg to read the thoughts she was trying to silently convey.

“Understand, boy?” The booming pastor cut in.

“Yessir,” Greg lowered his eyes. “I leave town tonight.”

Two hours later, Jenni rose from her pillow and ran to the gazebo where Greg waited.

“That meddling pastor won’t bother us again.”
